Cougs Land Standout

Rejecting offers from Arizona, Boise State, Oregon and Oregon State, Bellevue's star Safety Jamal Atofau has chosen WSU to play football at in college. From the article, "I let him know that I'm behind him 100 percent, and that I want to try to be a part of something real big the next few years," said the 5-foot-10, 185-pound nephew of former Cougars legend Jack Thompson and cousin of current Cougar Tony Thompson. He appears to be a very solid pickup and a guy who could compete for a starting spot right away. His only knack right now is his 2.1 GPA so he needs to get that up and qualify be June.

It is evident that while there is problems with the X's and O's on the field, this staff has done a pretty respectable job recruiting so far. As the season goes hopefully they can keep it all together because these kids are still going to be recruiting until they officially sign that letter of intent to WSU.
